Robbin RobertsonRobbin Robertson comes from a long line of folk artists and a home steeped in the artistic tradition. Her folk art-inspired paintings and found-object creations are further informed by her world travels and, in turn, have found their way into collections in the Caribbean, New, Florida, California and Mexico as well as throughout Texas.

Gallery St. Thomas owner Claire Ochoa says, “Robbin’s frequent trips to the Virgin Islands inspire her joyful multimedia work. She uses traditional Caribbean imagery and landscapes in fresh and unexpected ways, playing simple figures against sophisticated color combinations. Her compositions often include 3-D elements. This collection exudes a happy take on island life that includes layers of deeper, mythical meaning.”

Robertson adds, “My journeys to the Caribbean, Guatemala, Asia, and Hawaii have influenced my love for color and pattern. My psychology degree fuels my fascination with the shapes, colors and symbols that have the power to draw people instinctively into art. For me, creating art is critical to my existence.”
