Artist Statement
"I have lived in the virgin Islands since 1980, and my art is definitely influenced by my surroundings. I love doing paintings of local people doing local things. My Husband is from Denmark, so we travel to Europe quite a bit, and that has influenced my work as well. It is always a challenge for me, each time I do a painting I learn something new. A little technique or nuance. There are no art schools in the Virgin Islands, and I did not start painting until 1990, so I am pretty much, self-taught. My friend and I started ordering video lessons and went from there. I hope you enjoy the world through my eyes and paint brush! Thank you for taking a look.... Pam"
